Cubic zirconia rings offer the optical properties of diamond at a fraction of the cost. Our collection of 36,638 CZ rings features lab-created stones set in .925 sterling silver, with prices ranging from $6 to $6302. Cubic zirconia rates 8-8.5 on the Mohs hardness scale, making it durable for daily wear. Each stone is synthesized from zirconium dioxide powder heated to over 4,982°F, producing a crystal structure with a refractive index of 2.15-2.18—close to diamond's 2.42.

Cubic zirconia is a real lab-created crystal made from zirconium dioxide. It is not a natural gemstone but a synthesized material with its own distinct properties, including an 8-8.5 Mohs hardness rating.
CZ has a refractive index of 2.15-2.18 compared to diamond's 2.42, and higher dispersion at 0.058-0.066 versus diamond's 0.044. CZ weighs about 1.7 times more than diamond of the same size and rates lower on hardness (8-8.5 vs 10).
At 8-8.5 Mohs hardness, CZ resists scratching from most common materials. Surface cloudiness can occur from soap residue or lotions; regular cleaning with mild soap and water maintains clarity.
