Each stone type has different properties. Turquoise rates 5-6 on the Mohs hardness scale and contains copper compounds that create its blue-green color. Amber, fossilized tree resin, registers just 2-2.5 Mohs and often holds air bubbles or ancient insects. All settings use .925 sterling silver, an alloy containing 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% copper for durability.
